Worthy is He to be praised. Unworthy am I to be saved.
I start this post with those two sentences revealing my heart after witnessing two and a half weeks of service in Hong Kong. I am in awe of His sovereign goodness over our team, whether it be the salvation of Iris, a young attendee of Jordan Church, or the planting of seeds among all our wonderful English students, or the loving hospitality shown to us by the local churches in providing for so much of our needs. A short summary of the trip would provide more realizations of His goodness here. Upon embarking on our trip, I felt slightly bewildered, as I had only attended two trainings, didnt even know the names of the members of the team, and wasn't quite sure how we would practically teach English to the students. Our leaders and co-members continued to remind us to be flexible and told us that once we started the teaching, we would understand completely practically how everything would be done. Oh how God humbled me, that through my anxieties about serving, He proved all the more that He is the great provider as everything was fit into place in my mind by the 2nd day :] The highlight of the trip was definitely ministering to the students and getting to personally be a part of their lives over the 2 weeks. It was a wonderful blessing learning more about their culture, their heroes, their anxieties, their thoughts and to do so many fun activities with them! (Airsoft :] and oOoweee, playing piano for hours after class and even a lil bball :]) But the overwhelming blessing was the opportunity to share testimonies and even the complete gospel to them. I hope and pray that when the remember our team and even myself that they would remember us in the light of the Jesus Christ and our love for Him.
This was my prayer for myself while I was there: 2 Corinthians 2:2: "For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified."
But now that we're gone, our prayer continues on for the churches...that they would be able to minister to the students and that the gospel would continue to be shared!!
Anyway, now its time for pictures!! Team being ushered off by a crowd of Hong Konganese at the airport!
